External food vendors in Herräng
Some independent entrepreneurs have joined forces to cater to the appetites of the hundreds of hungry dancers welcomed by Herräng Dance Camp, outside of the camp’s official dining options. This might be a great opportunity to explore the area, to meet and greet the locals and to get to know some Swedish cuisine.
Marina
Experience traditional Swedish cuisine with a breathtaking view of a classic marina, the Baltic sea and the moored boats and yacht. It is the perfect opportunity to give the real Swedish meatballs a chance.
Kiosk
Combining a traditional Swedish newsstand and a small burger bar, at the Kiosk you can size up or down your burgers depending on your hunger level, or on how soon your next class is. Don’t miss trying their Mjukglass, the Swedish ice cream.
Food trucks
Craving different flavours? Don’t hesitate to visit the food trucks for fancy burgers, poke bowls, Thai food, fish & chips and more!
Herräng Bröd & Loppis
Feeling adventurous? On Wednesdays, this secret café serves pizzas on a first-come, first-served basis. Just follow the signs through the forest. Good luck!
Cook your own food
Save money and cook with your friends
Feeling nostalgic for some homemade food or want to share your culture with friends? Buy your own groceries and prepare a delicious meal in the company of other participants at the General Kitchen, open for free for the people sleeping at the General Accommodation and at the Camping Area. Even though you sometimes might need to get a bit creative, it provides pans, pots, stoves, fridges and more. Remember to label your food in the fridge with your name and date!
If you are wondering where to buy groceries for cooking at the General Kitchen, Kuggen is your go-to spot, the local supermarket. It isn’t big, but it is mighty. You will be able to find all the way from fresh produce to dry goods, and even some precious mosquito repellent!
They do accept both cash (SEK) and card, but please note that U.S. cards must have a chip, not just a magnetic stripe. If you own a Swedish bank account/card, they offer a cash-back service with purchases.
