Thomas Wadelton

Thomas is a child of Australia and a student of the world. A storyteller whose medium is music and movement. Using tap dance and song he shares something imbued with connection, something that draws people closer together.

Since 4 years of age Thomas has been performing on stage. His early years training were influenced greatly by teachers Christopher Horsey (Tap Dogs founding member) and Grant Swift (Swift Rhythm Hoofers and the Melbourne Int’l Tap Festival). Before long he had fallen in love with the art form of tap dance.

Thomas has performed for audiences around the world in China, Canada, Spain, The United States, Japan, Singapore, and Australia. He has taught workshops and had the chance to share his knowledge in many of these places.

Events include Shanghai Int’l Arts Festival, Vancouver Int’l Tap Festival, Festival Int'l Danse de Encore, Matthew Shields’ Tapestry on the Fringe (USA), MadTap Madrid, Festival de Claquettes de Montréal, The Falls Music and Arts Festival, The Apollo Bay Music Festival, Australian Int'l Tap Festival, the Bohemian Masquerade Ball and the Melbourne Summer Arts Festival.

From 2010 to 2013 Thomas was a principal dancer with Tapestry Dance Company. Based in Austin, Texas it is the only full time professional dance company in North America specialising in tap dance. He owes much to the teachings of the renowned Artistic director Acia Gray and the brilliant dancers who he shared those 3 years with.

Creating music, performing, teaching and spending time with people. Thomas is on a heart expanding adventure he is ever eager to share.
