Mako Ruan

Mako Ruan

Mako is a Jazz dance performer and teacher based in London UK and Guinea Conakry.

She has been dancing around the world performing with live bands for 12 years but it’s only in the last 3 years she’s developed a unique style while studying Mandingue dances from West Africa. She currently spends half of her time in Guinea studying the African roots of Jazz and Lindy Hop and collaborating with Guinean professional dancers.

Some of the most inspiring jazz artists for her are Duke Ellington, Erroll Garner and Dr. Jeni LeGon.

The joy of dance is truly universal, and she hopes to spread and share this joy in her classes.
