When Emil was 18 yrs old he was tricked to come to a Lindy Hop taster class by his mother. Never having danced before and afraid of making a fool of himself he just sat in the corner the whole class. A handful of tasters later he couldn't sit still, took a class and went to any dance he could find. Ever since, Chicago Swing Dance studio has been like a second home and his dancing career has been surprisingly fruitful. A little more than a year after he took his first triple step he started practicing with the Harlem Hot Shots and started teaching a couple of years later.
To Emil, the best thing about the Lindy Hop is the playfulness - it's all about having fun with your partner. As a teacher he draws inspiration from the old-timers of the swing era and his goal is to inspire the same craze in his students that he felt when first discovering the Lindy Hop.
