Herräng Dance Camp's response to the discussion regarding Code of Conduct at the event

The Herräng Dance Camp would like to pass on the following information and opinion in connection to the ongoing discussion concerning the event itself and Codes of Conduct: for the summer to come, the camp administration has no intention to establish any written instructions on how to behave properly. Not because we do not believe in the deserving aim of supporting good behaviors, but because we do not believe in the method and effectiveness of such documents. In general, we believe in common sense and that most people knows what goes and what doesn't. For those who at any point experience the opposite, the Herräng administration and its Reception is open and prepared to assist and if necessary, contact the local or domestic authorities. Herräng Dance Camp has, as well as other organizers and for good reasons, an obvious interest to take good care of visiting dancers. Sweden is furthermore a state governed by law, and the Swedish regulations are applicable in all possible situations of misconduct. Herräng Dance Camp has no right nor intention to implement any local regulations adding, extending nor conflicting with the legal system of Sweden.

The above perspective is the official point of view of the administration of the Herräng Dance Camp. Anyone is free to believe that Codes of Conduct are an efficient method to control possible misconducts or not, anyone is free to criticize or support our point of view on the matter, and anyone is free to keep a high or a low profile in the ongoing debate. Herräng Dance Camp has with this interjection, openly and with the intention to avoid future misunderstandings or groundless assumptions, declared its opinion on the subject. Herräng Dance Camp has furthermore no future intention to continue being an active part in any discussion forums on social media. Instead we welcome anyone interested in additional and correct information or a further discussion, to contact us directly at any of the following addresses: info@herrang.com, +46 (0)8 6434058 or visit us at our Stockholm office at Högalidsgatan 36 A.
